I wanted to tell you I’m afraid of angels, but I’m really not. On February 18, 1994, I was in an automobile accident. At the time, I did not know what happened except that I was surrounded by a bright white something that seemed to be holding me. I’ve only told a handful of people about this (oh, and anyone listening to a call in radio show once about seeing ghosts) and no one really had an answer for me.
Reflecting on this event and my post Angels in the Light, I set out to learn more about these spiritual beings. That meant reading all of Billy Graham’s (1994) book Angels, downloading Don Stewart’s (2020) free book Angels: God’s Invisible Messengers, and watching Wendigoon’s (2021) video the 9 types of Angels Explained. I was so excited to learn about these angels that I started categorizing, describing, and writing each a job description. (I’ll spare you my lengthy notes!)
And then, the weirdest thing happened, on August 29, 2022, I found myself on a mountain famous for angel sightings. I told my friend “M” about this and on September 5th, 2022, “M” and her husband went to hike this famous mountain. When I talked to her on the phone later that day, I asked her what, if anything, she saw on the ridge. She gave me a beautiful description of Prayer Mountain.
October 4th, 2022, “M” is in a coma. I prayed. “G-d, I need a miracle. I need her to come back and tell everyone she met Jesus!” Then, in the softness of my heart, I hear “You tell them.”
What do I regret not telling “M” on September 5th, 2022?
When I jumped out of the car at the top of Prayer Mountain, I was like a United States Marine on a reconnaissance mission. I had my phone out snapping pictures and taking videos, I was out to find these angels. I wanted to prove to my family angels exist. For thirty years, I believed it was an angel that protected and saved me from death on February 18, 1994.
It was at the end of the trail, that I thought “There are no angels here.” I turn around to walk back up the path. Then . . . straight from my heart, I hear a soft voice saying “Look here” and from behind me over my left shoulder a hand appeared. I was frozen in time until my husband from the top of the footpath yelled, “Are you coming?”
In the car, I was silent. My husband asked me, “What were you staring at for four minutes?” I couldn’t tell him, I was mentally talking to Jesus’ hand (because I was too afraid to look in any direction, but the hand). At this point, I’m assessing my mental health and I say, “Nothing.” Sometimes it’s easier to tell your friends this stuff, but I didn’t even dare to tell her, and now I don’t have the chance.
Fast forward to March 7th, 2023 . . .
I reflect back on these events and so many in my life. Today, I feel like I have to make amends. I was quick to accept the existence of angels, BUT now I know that bright white something was actually Jesus. Jesus is the light (John 8:12).

Reflecting on the Evidence
- Debate the existence of angels using references to support your position.
- Debate the existence of Jesus, as the light, using references to support your position.
Dedicated
To my family and friends who still don’t know Jesus, I pray your journey to knowing Him is shorter than mine!
