Mission Prep: Forgotten?

I think to myself, “It’s a good thing I didn’t get into the military. Why? I didn’t listen to the words in the song of my last post, Jumping Ship.

As a simulation expert and having lived and learned from two special people representing the 2nd and 3rd Marine Battalions I feel as though I failed, but did I?

When I jumped ship starboard side, did I do so in faith knowing it would be good? Or, had I failed to take note the ship was docked and I could walk off port side?

How did you Disembark?

Maybe jumping ship was just a dream, maybe it was a simulation, “A model or mock-up for purposes of experiment or training” (Lioce et al., 2020, p. 44). And if so, as I believe, then I was prepping for a mission. “Yes, that was it!

[Looking at the countdown on my phone] In three days, four hours and 21 minutes I would set sail. In my heart, I knew my journey would provide me valuable information.

I wonder how Florence Nightingale felt when she set sail for Crimea?

Reflecting on the Evidence

  1. Create your own story on how you would prepare for battle.
  2. Using Bloom’s Cognitive Taxonomy create and answer your own question using the above story.
